Soda and Telecast

Penny Dreadful season 2

Thanks to Anthony Pollock over on Soda and Telepaths for inviting me back to discuss season 2 of Penny Dreadful on his podcast.

Despite my bingeing the wrong season – and I outline why John Logan’s US-set revamp of the horror series Penny Dreadful: City of Angels disappointed me – and a quick digression on Rachel Pollack’s run on Doom Patrol, Anthony and I have a wide-ranging conversation about the ideas and themes of Penny Dreadful.

Feature for Soda and Telepaths on Warren Ellis

My thanks to Anthony Pollock from Soda and Telepaths for inviting me to write for his website. Anthony previously had me on the site podcast to talk about my comics work and Penny Dreadful.

For my first feature I chose to write about the allegations against Warren Ellis. This is a very upsetting situation for many people. As a creator Ellis’s work is notable for its ethical focus. I recommend the latest Wait, What podcast for a breakdown of the fallout.

But most of all we need to remember the women who are learning the extent to which they were manipulated by Ellis.

Here’s the piece.
