Australian comics

Here's the news

So it’s been a busy fortnight.

Thanks to the Easter holliers I had time to work on some projects, as well as some necessary admin.

Comics making tends to involve a lot of visits to the post office!

Anyway, here’s some news.

  • Copies of The Beating of Wings are travelling to retailers around Australia! For now I’m concentrating on retailers in this country. Although some generous souls overseas have bought copies from Ownaindi…I hope COVID-delays are not too long for those folks.

  • Moni Barrette has reviewed Faraway for Library Pass, which I was very grateful to see. “This cheeky exploration of fourth wall concepts is a rollicking ride with a swift and satisfying conclusion” - I am always happy to see folks enjoying this wee yarn of mine, Jeff and Thomas’s.

  • I had the pleasure of interviewing Nunzio DeFilippis and Christina Weir on their concluding Dragon Age miniseries, Dark Fortress.

  • Speaking of Deconstructing Comics, host Tim Young and I are preparing an episode dedicated to one of the comics industry greats, after a listener request. Lots of reading happening!

  • Thanks also to Anthony Pollock over on Soda and Telepaths for featuring me on his list of 51 Indie Comic Creators You Need to Keep an Eye On. Some august company to be associated with.

  • And last but not least, Hayden Fryer and I have a story in an upcoming anthology dedicated to all things Peter Pan, which will be crowdfunded. Learn more here.
