The Hounds of the Morrigan and Irishness

I’m happy to share that my essay The Hounds of the Morrigan — Pat O’Shea’s Vanishing Ireland has been published in issue #152 of Aurealis magazine. You can purchase a copy of the magazine on Smashwords.

The piece is my tribute to O’Shea’s use of Irish mythology to describe the changes in national identity down through the centuries, from the rise of Christianity to British occupation. The article also features an illustration by Ele Jenkins of the memorable biker wiccans/aspects of the Morrigan Macha and Bodbh.
