Yet another kind review!

Folks I swear I am not lining these up. Sometimes the fates are kind and you happen to receive positive notices on your work from various sources all at once.

Also - unexpectedly - fan art! Which is a first for me.

Con Chrisoulis is a Victorian-born comic creator, academic and musician. He is currently based between Greece and the UK. I’ve admired his work from afar for some time, particularly his approach to setting the real-life subjects of his comics - Jack Kirby, David Bowie, Morrissey, - within a detailed historical context.

If I was to attempt a more high fallutin’ summary of his work, I would suggest he is the closest thing we have to a comic creator who practices hermeneutics of cult celebrities.

I also interviewed Con recently for Deconstructing Comics. We corresponded and the other week Con posted a review of The Beating of Wings - complete with fan art!

Just read and thoroughly enjoyed The Beating of Wings by Emmet O'Cuana and Jeferson Sadzinski.

The Beating of Wings crosses that fine line between The Name of the Rose, The Handmaid's Tale and The Army of Darkness.

Set in a world where magic and religion are interwoven, The Beating of Wings follows the journey of Brother December who investigates the Demon infestation in the city of Emmanuel.

An incredibly intriguing introduction to a world I'm hoping O'Cuana will further explore and expand in the future - The Beating of Wings is a highly recommended read.

You can read The Beating of Wings on the ComiXology app or order a physical copy from your local store.

Cheers Con!
